If I don't have at least one pizza a week, I get most upset. Now that I've found Lardo, I might have to up that quota – I could happily lunch here every day and not get bored. When I visited last week, I genuinely felt like I was on holiday in Brooklyn, partly because it took about 12 hours to get to London Fields, but also because it's just So Bloody Cool. Why don't places like this spring up in South-west London? Bistrotheque manager Eliza Flanagan has got just about everything right, from the pared back industrial decor, to the star of the show - the oversized and rather spangly pizza oven. We had delicious fiery meatballs to start and then I opted for the pizza with N'duja, which I've been dreaming about ever since. This is the one to go for if you like spice. The sun was shining so we sat outside in prime hipster-spotting territory, sipping on Picpoul and wondering why we never come to East London. Pizza perfect.
