I love the Four Seasons. I would happily move into any of their hotels and never leave. If I had to pick one to live in (welcome to my shallow daydreams) it would probably be this one on the northwestern tip of Koh Samui. Coconut-fringed hilltop location with panoramic views – tick, incredible jungle spa – tick, superb design – tick (thanks again Bill Bensley). The list goes on. The resort's private beach is so beautiful that I mostly ignored the infinity pool at our villa and spent a lot of time here on my daybed gazing out to the Gulf of Siam, with the odd lingering lunch at beachside restaurant Pla Pla. I also invested a lot of time and calories at Koh Thai Restaurant - working my way through all my local favourites like Tom Yum Goong and Massaman Nua Pla Pla; and one night we ordered an in-villa barbecue which was a real novelty. There was a lot of eating on this trip. I made up for it ever-so-slightly by playing tennis a couple of times in 30 degree heat and I also had a quick go at paddleboarding. But really, this place is about indulgence and I didn't like to rock the boat.
