Oliu opened a couple of years back near Port d'Andratx in Mallorca and immediately became one of my favourite local spots. The chef, Joan Porcel Balaguer, was just 25 at launch (!) but he's done a remarkable job - the menu is always unusual and interesting (few restaurants nearby are big on originality) and he's really clever with local ingredients. Design-wise, it would fit quite comfortably into the pages of Wallpaper magazine - it's a restored farmhouse with a gorgeous courtyard for the summer months and a vast, open kitchen inside. Cool, contemporary and chilled.
